How Much Do Handmade Wedding Rings Cost in Berlin? (2026)

"How much is a handmade wedding ring?" is a fair question, and a surprisingly hard one to get a straight answer to online. Prices depend on real things — the metal, the width, whether it is made to order — so here is an honest guide to what handmade rings actually cost in Berlin in 2026, and what you are paying for.

What determines the price

  • The metal. The biggest factor by far. Silver costs a fraction of gold. Within gold, the karat matters — 18k contains more pure gold than 14k or 8k, so it costs more — and the gold price itself moves over time.
  • The width and weight. A wider, heavier band simply contains more metal. A 4 mm ring costs more than a fine 2 mm one in the same material.
  • Made to order and by hand. A ring made for you, adapted and finished by hand, is not the same as a mass-produced band stamped out by the thousand. You are paying for the making, not only the material.

Rough guide prices (2026)

As a starting point, so you have real numbers rather than a mystery:

  • Silver rings — from around €80, up to roughly €200 for wider or more detailed pieces. A beautiful, everyday-durable option, and a real choice for wedding bands, not only a budget one.
  • Solid gold wedding bands — from around €500 each for a simpler band, more with greater width or higher karat.
  • A gold pair (two rings) — roughly €1,000 to €2,600 depending on karat and width. An 8k pair sits near the lower end; a wider 18k pair near the top.

Engraving — initials, a date, your own handwriting — is a small addition on top. Because the gold price moves and every ring is made to order, treat these as a guide, not a quote: for an exact figure, message me with what you have in mind and I will price it properly.

Why handmade costs what it does

A handmade, made-to-order ring costs more than a factory band, and it should. You are getting a ring adapted to you rather than picked off a tray, made from recycled, nickel-free gold, by the person who designed it, in a Berlin studio you can actually visit. It can be sized correctly for a lifetime of wear, engraved, and repaired or reworked years later — none of which is true of a cheap stamped band. For something worn every day for decades, the cost per year of wear is very small.

Getting an exact price

The honest way to know what your rings will cost is to tell me what you want — metal, width, whether it is a pair, any engraving — and let me quote it. Message me on Instagram, WhatsApp or by email, or come to the studio in Berlin and we will work it out in person. You can see the wedding rings to start from.
