Jewelry Workshop at the Sofia Kov Studio
A hands-on experience of creating your own piece.
This jewelry workshop is designed for those who are curious about process, craftsmanship, and the meaning behind handmade objects. You leave not only with a finished piece of jewelry, but with the deep satisfaction of knowing you created it yourself — from the first idea to the final form — in a calm, intimate studio setting.
The piece you create becomes a personal object and a lasting reminder of this experience.
This is a private jewelry workshop, booked exclusively for you - either individually or for two participants together, allowing for focused, unhurried work and individual guidance throughout the process.
This experience is for you if you:
– want to try jewelry making with no prior experience
– are looking for a meaningful, slow experience rather than a typical class
– want to create a special piece for yourself or as a gift
– are seeking quality time for two or wish to create matching pieces
– enjoy craftsmanship, design, and tactile processes
– have been wanting to work with your hands and quiet your mind
This is not a professional training course, but an intimate, personal experience where you create a fully finished, high-quality piece of jewelry with attentive guidance at every stage.
Workshop formats
You can choose one of two formats:
Working directly with metal
This is a more physical, hands-on process. You begin by developing a design, then move into the fundamentals of jewelry making: sawing, soldering, and surface finishing. During the workshop, you create and complete a silver piece that you take home the same day.
This format is ideal for those who enjoy movement, action, and direct contact with the material.
Wax carving
This is a calmer, more meditative process. Wax behaves like a living material — it can be bent, carved, melted, reshaped, and refined almost endlessly, allowing the form to evolve naturally over time.
The process sits somewhere between woodworking and clay sculpting, emphasizing tactility, patience, and a slow, intuitive rhythm. Wax is forgiving: forms can be adjusted, changed, or started a new.
During the workshop, you create a wax model of your piece, which is later professionally cast and finished in silver. The completed jewelry is ready in approximately three weeks.
This format is ideal for those who enjoy creative exploration, form, and immersive, unhurried processes — where an initial idea may transform into something entirely unexpected.
